Set up your class, step by step
You need your own adult account and a checked school connection. Free setup includes a class space, invitations and pupil confirmation. Sending work and viewing class progress require an active Class Licence: £59 for one class for 12 months, with a default allowance of 30 confirmed pupils and no automatic renewal. Larger class allowances are agreed individually with Spellito; check your agreed limit before confirming more pupils.
Create your own teacher account
Open teacher setup. Enter your own email address and choose Continue. For an existing account, enter your password. For a new account, choose a password, fill in Repeat password and choose Create account. Then complete the separate teacher consent step. Use your own login; do not share one staff account.
Choose the official school
In Choose your school, check the school name and address against the official record. Selecting a school does not prove you work there.
Complete the independent school check
Contact Spellito support with your school and the email you use for Spellito. Do not send pupil names or documents. Wait for School connection verified in your teacher space before inviting families. Payment does not verify a teacher or give access to another class.
Set up the right class
Open class setup, enter the familiar class label, choose the school year and select Create class. If your class already exists, use that class instead; if another teacher owns it, check with them before continuing rather than creating a duplicate. You can prepare this step while verification is pending.
Share the private family invitation
Return to your teacher space and select Create family invitation. Copy the Private family invitation link into your approved private class channel. Use Preview link to check the destination; it still requires a parent account. Share the parent instructions alongside it. Do not post the invitation or pupil details publicly.
Confirm each parent request
Open Review parent requests. Check the child belongs to the named class, then choose Confirm child or Reject request. Parents agree to share the child's first name, last initial and school year with the registered class teachers. A link alone does not admit a pupil, and pending requests do not reveal practice progress. Without Family Pass, an additional class-funded profile needs teacher confirmation and current paid class cover before it is available as an extra player. School homework still requires a confirmed class link and active class funding.
Send the first licensed spelling set
Check the class shows an active licence in your teacher space. If it does not, review Class Licence options; do not ask parents to buy Family Pass to receive school work. Open spelling sets, choose the class, name the set and add the words. Select Save spelling set, check its sentences and audio, and use Prepare audio if needed, or Retry missing audio if recordings failed. Once ready, use the send button for the confirmed pupils. Ask a parent to check the set appears, then review class progress after practice.
What families need and what comes next
Parents do not need Family Pass for work assigned through an active Class Licence. Family Pass is a separate, optional product for private home features; class funding does not give every family those extras.
A free parent account includes one ordinary child profile. For an additional child using class funding, families should open that child's own paid class invitation. Choose Add a child for a funded class if the account has no child profiles, or Add another child for a funded class if it already has a profile, up to five child profiles in total. If the child already has a profile, use the existing profile instead. Funding one class does not cover every sibling: for school homework, each additional child needs their own paid class connection and teacher confirmation.
Share the private link only with the intended class families. Class Licence checkout uses your adult account and the exact class you choose; its 12 months start from payment. Family activation codes cannot activate a Class Licence. See the purchase terms, including the full-refund window of 14 days from purchase.
