Reception to Year 6

Spelling practice, brought to life.

Spellito is a UK primary spelling app that takes the reading aloud off your hands. Children hear each word in a sentence, type their answer and practise spellings they find tricky. Start with free year-group practice. Family Pass adds your own home or school spelling lists, while a Class Licence lets teachers send checked weekly lists straight to families.

Ad-free, and you don’t need an account to start.

Extra practice for tricky spellings.

Children hear each word in a sentence and see the correct spelling after a mistake. At the end of a round, they can practise just the words they missed.

Questions from grown-ups

Spellito, clearly explained.

The useful details before your child starts practising or your school joins Spellito.

Is Spellito free?

Yes. Unlimited basic ten-word practice stays free, with no child name, account or adverts required. Pay only if you want the extra tools: Family Pass is £9 per family per year and Class Licence is £59 per class per year. Each deliberate payment gives 12 months and never renews automatically.

Which year groups can use Spellito?

Spellito covers Reception through Year 6. It chooses age-appropriate English primary spelling content for the year selected on the device.

Does Spellito include SATs spelling practice?

Yes. Year 2 and Year 6 children can practise released KS1 and KS2 spelling-paper words from 2016 to 2026 where a paper is available, alongside mixed year-group practice.

Do I need to create an account?

No. A child can pick a year and complete unlimited basic ten-word practice without entering their name or creating an account. Family Pass is optional and adds up to five child profiles, spelling helper characters (buddies), hints, private progress, home lists, released SATs practice and cross-device sync.

What information does Spellito collect about children?

Guest practice stays on the device. Spellito does not ask for a child email, surname, birthday, home address, photo or voice recording, and it has no adverts or gameplay tracking.

What can teachers do in Spellito?

A free teacher account can create one class identity, share private family invitations, confirm parent requests and see the minimum roster. A £59-per-year Class Licence replaces repeated printing, cutting and handing out of lists: send one checked weekly spelling set and see private pupil progress for that class. A pupil appears only after a parent requests the link and a teacher confirms it.

What does Spellito cost for a whole school?

Spellito School costs £1 per pupil per year, with a £99 annual minimum, paid for the whole school in one annual transaction or invoice. It covers every verified class and teacher at the school. An authorised head teacher or school business manager can ask Spellito support to arrange it.
