Spellito apps: Google Play, App Store and Windows update

Practising this week’s school spelling list does not need to wait for an app-store release. Parents and teachers can use Spellito’s web app now, with typing, letter tiles and handwriting on paper. Store versions are being prepared or planned, but none is available to download yet.

What is available today?

The existing installable web app is available on supported Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows and Mac browsers. You open Spellito on the web, then use your browser’s installation or home-screen option where available. This is separate from downloading an app through a store.

Installation options vary by browser, operating-system version and device settings; not every device is guaranteed to support them. The installation guide explains the supported routes. If an install option is missing, you can still try opening Spellito directly in the browser.

How far along is the Google Play version?

An Android preview has been installed on a real phone, and a draft Google Play entry exists. That is development progress, not a public release: the entry has not been submitted and is not in store review.

Before submission, we still need to complete signing, verify the connection between the app and Spellito’s website, check the full-screen experience and finish the store-policy requirements. Installing one preview does not establish that every Android device is ready.

When are the Apple and Windows apps coming?

Apple App Store and Windows Microsoft Store versions are planned. Our aim is early October 2026, subject to development, testing and each store’s approval. This is a target, not a promised release date; there is no approved release date for either version.

The platforms may become available at different times. For this week’s homework or a classroom session, use the existing web app rather than planning around an unconfirmed store launch.

Start with this week’s spellings

A paid Family Pass includes home lists so parents can use the exact words sent home. A paid Class Licence provides teaching tools, including electronic weekly lists and assignments. See weekly spelling-list practice for families or Spellito’s tools for teachers for the relevant route.

Children can type answers, build them with letter tiles, or listen and write on paper. Paper practice is self-marked: it does not use a camera to recognise handwriting and does not save paper scores. Choose the mode that fits the child and the task.

Basic ten-word curriculum practice remains free, with no child name or account required. Adding Spellito to a home screen does not unlock paid features or require a store purchase.
